Solitude of the Open Sea
by Gregory Newell Smith
$25.00
by Karl Sklenars Date Added: Sunday 28 October, 2007
I enjoyed this audiobook.

I loved the real sailing adventures - the seld ride and the tasman crossing... the book is very introspective about cultures and relationships in parts and he certainly doesn't always paint the most positive picture of places visited and cultures, making it more believable. I did cringe at a number of comments about his crew etc but that also was what made it realistic.

It is not however hours about sailing as such but about the destinations, cultures etc along the way - very thought provoking and well worth the purchase.
